The Economic Development Department drives long-term sustainability, growth and prosperity for the entire Kanaka Bar community through strategic initiatives and supports across multiple sectors.
From housing and infrastructure to food-security, business development, emergency operations, and employment training, we work to create opportunities, build capacity, and generate value for members on and off-reserve. All of our efforts are rooted in cultural values, environmental stewardship, and the well-being of the T’eqt’aqtn’mux people.
Through careful planning, partnerships, and active project management, we aim to strengthen our economic base, enhance self-sufficiency, and ensure that new development respects both our heritage and our future.
